Challenge #11 - Anything But A Card

Hi All,

I altered a little 2-1/4" square acetate gift box for my project this week.  I'm thinking these would be great little treat holders for the upcoming holidays!

I started out by stamping my little penguin guy from the "Penguin Fun" set on white cardstock and coloring with copics. I trimmed it to fit over an oval chipboard piece I had and then glazed over it with UltraThick clear embossing powder.  I attached a little beaded chain around the side of the chipboard and added a half-back pearl to his hat.  I die cut a scalloped oval for the base out of colored tin that I got from my LSS.

Hope you have been having a great week!  Be sure to stop by tomorrow to check out a brand new Woodware USA challenge!

Magic Potion?

Want a little sip? It's just a little magic potion to get you into the stamping mooooodddd...Really! Ha!

Hello- Kerry here to share my not-a-card-creation with you today. I decided to mix up a little magic potion and poured it into a tall bud vase (yep, for roses) and added a festive tag on the black straw. Such a fun way to spruce up a drink for a party, right?
I'm getting into the mood for my sister's annual Halloween Bash and this little potion will be a hit for sure. Wanna know the recipe? Well, you'll have to post a comment to know the secret recipe.
Woodware's Wizardry set was the perfect set for this cute tag. I started out by distressing with Ranger Rusty Hinge distress ink, then "generation" stamped the bubbles from the cauldron around the edges of the tag. After that, I doodled a border, stamped some stars in Ranger Stormy Sky distress ink, added my Copic colored dragon, stamped and doodled the sentiment (You can even hand write a name if you don't want a phrase like I used), popped on some bling and the fun fibers and POOF...It was done!
Make your holiday and party service a hit with little tags like these. Attach the tags to a bendy draw and it's a perfect treat! I think the tall bud "glass" is a unique way to spice up a boring drink presentation too...Give it a try!
Stop by tomorrow for another ANYTHING BUT A CARD creation as Anne finishes off the week of inspiration. Make sure to stop by the shop too. It's now time for my holiday card making extravaganza so watch for some of the newest stamp sets (Many of the Christmas ones) to show up here and on my blog!!! Join me in some fun too...I've got PRIZES!!!
PSSSST....If you didn't already notice, FREE INKY LINKS until 12-25-10!!! One free pad with purchase (while supplies last).

Anything But a Card

Anything But a Card is definitely a challenge for me!  I decided to make some bookmarks to go with holiday presents and I thought the Angels stamp set was a good one to use for the holidays.
This is one of three sweet angels in the set.  I used a precut bookmark and stamped the angel and some music notes and finished it off with a ribbon.
Just a reminder that with any purchase you will receive two free ink pads from Woodware.  This offer is good until tomorrow, October 19!
Come back tomorrow to see what Dawn created for this Anything But a Card challenge!  I loved Nancy's altered box (see yesterday's post) and I can't wait to see what the other DT members created - I am hoping to get some good ideas!

It's as easy as A-B-C!

It’s Monday, and we have a treat for you!! This week’s challenge for our Woodware USA design team is ANYTHING BUT A CARD (A-B-C)! This really is a challenge for me each time that we do it. I get into the card rut, so I seldom venture out into the world of “other things.” Today, I did!

I have a box that came in a pack of six from Martha Stewart Crafts. It is designed to hold treats (brownies, bars, cookies, etc.), so I decided to jazz it up a bit. I tend to give more treats around the holidays, so I made this for Christmas. I kept the stamping simple, but I loved that I could assemble the phrase “we wish you a Merry Christmas” through stamps in the set called Traditional Christmas Greetings. It is a great all purpose set, and it gives you a large amount of greetings, both religious and secular.

I used a set of paper from My Mind’s Eye called Colorful Christmas, and it is adorable…so glad that I had some left over from last year because this box took up a lot! The box is almost 9 inches square, and the depth is 2 ½ inches. The ribbon is Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon from Stampin’ Up.

See you tomorrow!! Stay tuned for more awesome samples from the design team this week!
