Woodware USA Challenge #41 - It's a 3-2-1 Challenge

Thank you for joining us this week for our 41st challenge! Don't forget that we have some awesome new sets in the store for Fall! You don't want to miss them. You can see all of the new sets HERE!

We have a fun challenge for you this week -- a 3-2-1 challenge. What is that? You need to have 3 different papers, 2 different embellishments and 1 image. If your sentiment is your main image that is fine, but if you have a colored image and want to add a sentiment, then that sentiment will not count as your one image. Here are just some simple rules for you to follow:

1. Only new creations (not backdated ones) will be considered for this challenge.
2. Only 2 entries per participant per week.
3. You will receive one entry per card for our monthly drawing. Use a Woodware USA image, and you will receive a bonus entry.
4. If you would like to be considered for our guest designer spot, please place an asterisk (*) next to your name.

Now, on to our lovely samples:

Thanks for stopping by today!! We are glad to have you joining us for the 33rd challenge here at Woodware USA! Our challenge this week is a color combo in honor of the United States holiday - the 4th of July or Independence Day. In order for everyone to play, you can either use a patriotic color combo (red, white, and blue) or a patriotic theme. As you can see below in our design teams' samples, you can do a lot with this color combo! We would love to have you join us this week!

Today, we are saying goodbye to our guest designer, Danni! Thank you, Danni for playing with us this month! We loved having you! Next week, we will have another new guest designer. I will be introducing her next Monday, but the rest of the team will be on hiatus for just one week!

Some simple rules to follow:

1. Link your original creation using the Inlinkz system.
2. Only two entries per participant per week.
3. Get an extra entry if you use a Woodware USA image!
4. Bonus: if you would like to be considered as a guest designer, please put an asterisk next to your name. You don't have to use Woodware stamps, but we love to see them anyway!

Heee Hee Heee...

Trick or Treat! Tomorrow is Halloween and I can think of no better way to avoid eating all the candy in my candy bucket than to lock myself in my stamping room to make a few festive creations!

Halloween Colors? Well, I guess you can say the traditional colors are green, purple and orange...so I think I followed the line pretty well this week even though I added a few more to the mix.

I decided to make a square cardfront that will double as a scrapbook page for my three year old niece. She loves playing dress-up all year long and has been wearing her costume (a cute little bat fairy) for WEEKS around her house. I don't make pages often, but Halloween and Christmas seem to get the most showcase in my scrapbook layouts anyway.

On this creation, I used one of my most favorite WoodwareUSA sets (I think I say that about all of my sets, but it's TRUE!) called Mary and Friends. I added a little witch hat (QuickCutz) to Mary's head so she and her friend "Boo" can spook the town Sunday night!

I noticed something as I was making this card. I always seem to add a few more curls to Mary's hair. For some reason, I think a fuller set of hair is easier to color with my copics. What would you do? Keep it the same or add some more?

I hope you have a fun Sunday evening and have some fun stamping too! Remember, If you want to play along in the "Make an Everyday Set HALLOWEENIE" Contest, the deadline is tonight. So post your card on Piali's post HERE and you will have a chance to win a WOODWARE PRIZE!!!

A New Week at Woodware USA!!

We have a freebie to give away when we reach 100 followers,
so become a follower for your chance to win!!
It’s Monday, and I’m here with a new challenge for you from our Woodware USA design team! Bonnie Rose has had to leave the team, and we will truly miss her. However, the show must go on, and I will be kicking off the challenges each Monday from now on! Normally, I’m a hide in bed on Monday mornings, but here I am, and I’m ready to go.

This week’s challenge is to use GLITTER and BLING in your creations. Well, sometimes I feel like I came out of the womb destined to be glittery! And, the way I find little specks all over my house, I think that I still haven’t lost my glitz!

I have used the adorable set—Penguin Fun for my card today, and it is a fun one! I also coupled it with some marvelous Christmas paper from My Mind’s Eye. I’ve also greatly distressed as many edges as I could! We hope that you will join us and play along!!

Next, I have my card from last week’s challenge—paper piecing. I have used the adorable Mary and Friends for my inspiration today. My usual day to post was this past Saturday, but I decided to just run the two together. If I could have paper pieced the girl’s skin, I would have. Everything else is paper-pieced using Green at Heart by Basic Grey. I just love that paper, and I was able to use my scraps on this one! The cardstock colors are Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry by Stampin’ Up. I used an EK Success border punch and some SU ribbon and punches.
Check back tomorrow for more design team inspiration!!

Challenge #6 Paper Piecing

Hi, Harriet here.  I absolutely love to paper piece - I think it is my favorite technique!  This week's challenge is paper piecing.  I hope you play along with us - you do not need to use Woodware stamps but if you have them we'd love to see them!!  Just add a direct link to your creation to the comments on this post so we can see what you created!!
The stamp set I used is Woodware's Mary and Friends and I used the TESC127 sketch and the Embellish Magazines challenge of paper piecing and using Kraft, yellow, light green and dark green.
This cutie's clothes, shoes and flowers were all paper pieced using Memory Box Homespun Collection patterned papers.  I cut her out using the Out of the Box technique with my circle Nestabilities.
Come back tomorrow to see Dawn's take on this challenge!
Supplies: Stamps - Woodware Mary and Friends; Ink - Versafine Onyx Black; Paper - PaperTrey Kraft and white, Memory Box Homespun Collection; Misc - Nestabilities, SU! Blush Blossom marker.

Challenge #5 1+2+3

Hi - Harriet here with my take on this fun challenge: 1 ribbon, 2 circles and 3 flowers.  I used two different Woodware USA sets for my card.  The flowers are from Flower Frames - it is actually one flower image and I stamped it 3 times.  The sentiment is from Mary and Friends and is part of one sentiment (I masked off a word).  This sketch is a case of this card by Silke
I colored the flowers with Water color pencils and an aquabrush and cut them out with my Nestabilities.  I used a MS border punch and placed helf back pearls in the centers.
I hope you decide to play with us and if you do, please link up your card in the comments on this blog post.  And please come back tomorrow to see Dawn's take on this challenge!
Supplies: Stamps - Woodware USA Flower Frames, Mary and Friends; paper - PaperTrey, DCWV; Ink - Versafine Onyx Black; Misc - Water Color Pencils, Aquabrush, Nestabilities, button, ribbon, MS Border Punch, Kaisercraft pearls, embroidery thread
