Skating Around

Crafty Debs today with a very delicate Christmas card
debs
Crafty Debs has used Jane's Clear Magic stamp Skating Snowmen and in the background the Traditional Trees stamp also designed by Jane.
debs1
Debs has stamped and cut out the snowmen, then painted them with the Metallic F/x powder. Crafty Debs has mixed the powder with water, to make a water colour paint, if you want to make it more robust you can add Gum Arabic to the mixture, or if you mix it with Acrylic Glue you can make an acrylic paint.
debs2
Crafty Debs has used a mask to mask out the bottom of the trees so that she could vary the size. They have been stamped with a Watermark pad and then the powder delicately added.
I love the way that Crafty Debs has painted the drifts of snow and the clusters of crystals at the corners look really great. Debs has made this a tent fold card, this allows for the charming bow at the top.
Thanks for visiting pop over to see what else Crafty Debs has been up to?

Merry and Bright Snowflake

Snowflake Flower with Dreamweaver's Metallic F/x
21
I have used Jane's Snowflake Flower Clear Magic stamp, I think that it is one of my favourites this year.
16
first I stamped it with my ColorBox Watermark pad and then I added two colours of Metallic F/x Navajo Sky and Golf Finch
15
Then I brushed off the excess with the soft blending brush and used the corner rounder to finish off the layer.
12
something that I have not done for a very long time is to use my Watermark pad just to stamp with, I remember being very excited by being able to do this many years ago when the pads first came on the market. How brilliant is it that you can stamp with one ink pad to make a background without having to find an ink pad that will match? Oh simple things!
19
I added some plain 15mm organza ribbon and attached the panel to the card.
20
Then I tied on some dotty organza
17
The greeting is from the same stamp set and I have edged the panels with the gold finch Metalic F/x. Just run your card along a Watermark pad and brush the powder on.

Holly and Yew

This week the girls are using Dreamweaver Metallic F/x this is a very high quality Mica powder in a stunning range of colours. The pot contains nothing but high quality mica pigment, no fillers!
Today we have a card from Jane the Flower Girl, this technique really intrigued me
jane
Jane has used her Yew and Holly Clear Magic stamp, she has stamped it and embossed it in white.
Then she has added the magic ingredient and the Metallic f/x...

Jane's photograph (while I love the card, doesn't do justice to her technique so I had to have a go....
1
so Jane's magic ingredient is Hand Sanitiser! put out a small blob and the add your Metallic f/x
2
it looks great as you mix it up.
3
I have stamped and embossed these Stampendous Delicate Snowflakes in white on black card
4
then painted on the mixture
5
the card will curve, but because the sanitiser is mainly alcohol which evaporates very quickly the card will dry quickly.
6
polish off the excise and the embossing powder acts as a resist and it wipes away.
I think that I was a bit heavy with the Metallic f/x but I think that it looks great.
I hope that you like Jane's technique as much as I do!

debs1
The pop of colour is a butterfly from another of Jane's stamps a lovely Clear Magic set with four butterflies.
The greeting comes with the Mary Jane stamp, Crafty Debs has layered on to black card and added some dotty organza, always a great addition to a card.
Why not pop over to see what else Crafty Debs has been up to this week?

Falling Leaves

The leaves in the park and garden are starting to turn and it is chilly in the morning and evenings so this week we are thinking about falling leaves, today we have a card from Jane the Flower Girl.
jane1
The stamp set is English Leaves.
jane
for the background Jane has lightly inked with dye ink and then spritzed with water. Jane has then stamped using the Kaleidacolor ink pad in Autumn Leaves, first she stamped on the card and then she has stamped on some card and cut them out and mounted them on foam pads.
The greeting is one of the Woodware Just Words Happy Birthday.
A great card for an autumnal birthday!

Is it Too Late for an Indian Summer?

Today we have a card from Gill
gill1
Gill has used Jane's Indian Summer Clear Magic stamp. Gill has stamped the image on back card with a ColorBox Watermark pad and clear powder, so the embossing is just like a resist, then she has highlighted areas with Gilding Wax.
gill2
Gill has then stamped on white card with grey ink, and coloured with some pens. The image has then been punched with a circle punch and then on a layer of silver mirror card. I like the way that Gill has used the grey ink so that the colouring really stands out from the image.
The layers have bee added to a black card, and it has been finished off with a ribbon and bow, tied around the layers.
For full details of sizes etc pop over to Gill's blog and take a look.

A Blooming Pop of Colour

I have used more that one colour, but only coloured a very small part of the image
8
I have used the lovely Flowering Bike Clear Magic stamp designed by Francoise, it is a very pretty image
1
first I stamped it twice, I have used ColorBox Bark Crafters ink and stamped on the woodware Mixed Media card
2
Then I punched the flowers out with the blue Super circle punch this was the best size.
3
I coloured with Sakura Koi brush pens. Then I highlighted the basket with the Sakura Clear Star gellly roll pen. This pen is a must have for adding some fast sparkle.
4
I have used my Woodware edge scuffer on the panel, and then mounted it on some ribbed kraft card.
5
Then I added some brown gingham ribbon, I love the Woodware gingham ribbons.
6
Then I added some of the Woodware self adhesive lace in cream.
7
popped the hearts from the same stamp set down the side and then layered up my pops of colour.

Circles, circles and more circles

Jane the Flower Girl today bringing us her fruitful card...
jane1
Jane has dug out one of her favourite cards, but she did have a run of these, and they are rather special, but quite simple. The important thing to note is that Jane has three folds in this card, so stamp your images, and punch them out in various sizes and colour the backgrounds with dye inks. Then put it together, I would use a piece of A4 card or marks on my mat to get the size of the card about right, so that it fits a standard envelope; then score at A4 in half and for a gate fold on your Groovy Board. Three scores gives you a four sided card that will look good when it is closed as well as open.
jane2
You could use any of Jane's Clear Magic Grasses, or the flowers or even her weeds for this technique.
jane3
The words come from Jane's Saucer Flowers Clear Magic stamp set.

Circles, Squares and Dots - with a leaf or two

Our card today comes from Gill
gill
Gill has used Jane's Clear Magic Stamp Leaf Quilt Patchwork of Leaves, Gill has stamped in black on cream card.
gill1
and then stamped again on Kraft Card, and also layered on the kraft card. Gill has used pencils to colour the images, and a Micron pen to edge the card. I like the way that Gill has used the craft card for her raised images, it highlights them really well.
gill3
Liquid Pearls and Gold Stickles add the finishing touches.
For full details and sizes pop over to Gill's Crafty Journey where you will find them all.

Mellow Fruitfulness

Today we have a card or two from Kim X
kim
I think that this theme is perfect for Kim with her amazing backgrounds. Kim has made the background with a Dutch Doobadoo Mask Art Stencil this one is Spiders Web. Kim has used it with Decorating Chalks they are a great way to create soft backgrounds. Kim has coloured through the stencil so that the web is left pale. Then Kim has stamped and embossed Jane's Clear Magic Wheat stamp over the top to give a strong image.
kim1
Kim has layered on to another piece of Chalked Mixed Media Card. This time before chalking Kim has covered the card with a Watermark Pad which holds the chalk and makes them stand out.
Kim as usual has got carried away so pop over to her blog to see what else she has been up too this week with this theme.

Time of Mellow Fruitfulness

Well I thought that I would have had them all stumped with this one, but Crafty Debs has done a great job with this theme.
debs
Crafty Debs has used Jane's Bubble Bloom Linda and I like the way that Debs has used it in the corners of the card. Crafty Debs has stamped and the coloured with the Sakura Koi Brush Pens. They have then been covered with Glossy Accents to make them look like lushous berries ready for the birds to feed on.
debs1
Debs has stamped the greeting, from the same stamp set, on some ripped vellum. The regular size maple leaf which has been punched from inked card so they and to that autumnal feel.

Football Boot or Soccer Boot

Jane the Flower Girl is putting in the boot
jane
Jane has turned the sketch on it's side. The stamp set that she has used is the football boot all of the images come from this set.
jane1
The boot could be coloured in team colours.
jane2
The background stencil is the Dutch Doobadoo Absract Stencil. The stencil works really well with the football theme. This is a great card from Jane, and would be great for these peskie men or the ever growing number of girls playing football.

Multi Coloured Dog

Here we have another take on this sketch
a
This one I have turned on its side
54
and changed it a little bit.
c
I used my Sakura Koi Brush Pens and coloured each stripe a different colour, I think it looks rather snazzy.
I inked the edges of a panel for Sausage to go on
Then I decided that it did not have enough contrast, so I got out my stencil brush again and did a sort of strie technique this worked as the card is textured. I have done faux stitching around the panel and the card.
g
Sausage fits on the panel perfectly, the card is A4 Linen Card folded in half.
I used some Fancy Twine around some card for the small section
f
The words come from the same stamp set
dorrie
I have layered them on one of the Fitted Frames dies from Stampendous.
